Tides Digital Atavism

Tides Digital Atavism is an alternate firmware for Mutable Instruments Tides v2. 

Modes

Tides Digital Atavism maintains the functionality of the original factory firmware and adds the following new modes:

• Comparator - blinking green LED (Added in v0.1)
• S&H + Noise - blinking orange LED (Added in v0.1)
• Branches (Random Gates) - blinking red LED (Added in v0.2)

In all of these modes, outputs 1&2 are the folded (without offset) and regular outputs, respectively, but occasionally with a twist.

Comparator

In Comparator mode, outputs 3&4 are high when outputs 1&2 are above the SHIFT/LEVEL threshold value (determined by the attenuverted input level and the knob position).

S&H + Noise

In S&H + Noise (Sample-and-Hold and Noise) mode, the SHIFT/LEVEL value (determined by the attenuverted input level and the knob position) is sampled upon rising edge of the TRIG input. This sampled value is sent to output 3 then used to scale outputs 1&2. Output 4 is stepped random noise generated upon rising edge of the TRIG input. 

The idea was to feed this random stream of values to the SHIFT/LEVEL input, but I strongly suggest buffering this signal  before using it as a self-patched input or using another module as a noise source for input. 

Branches (Random Gates)

In Branches (Random Gate) mode, the TRIG input randomly gates outputs 3&4. In AD and AR modes, these random gates from 3&4 are used to trigger outputs 1&2, respectively. In continuous mode, outputs 1&2 are unaffected by the random gates. The SHIFT/LEVEL value (determined by the attenuverted input level and the knob position) represents the probability for both random gates.

The latest stable version can be downloaded from this page. Please note that you will be downloading a WAV file that is not intended to be listened to! Once downloaded following the firmware update procedure found in the official manual.
